Our repository includes thousands of treasures, hidden from public view. Help us determine which pieces deserve a place in the museum.

The Hague Historical Museum is full of art treasures and objects related to the history of The Hague. But did you know that the Historical Museum of The Hague preserves many more beautiful works? All these hidden treasures are in the depot. It is high time that you, as a visitor, come and admire these works of art. That is why we are opening our depot once. Will you come and take a look?

Hidden works of art

In the museum you will find works and objects that all show the story of The Hague in their own way. Current exhibitions give you a good idea of the city and its history. But the Historical Museum of The Hague also has works of art that are not suitable for exhibitions. They are kept in the depot.

Just because these artifacts don't fit our exhibits doesn't mean they should stay hidden. The special pieces also deserve an audience. That's why, for once, you can go into the storage facility of the Hague Historical Museum. Admire works by Arntzenius and all kinds of other artworks you have never seen before. Get to know The Hague even better.

If you come to visit the depot, we are curious which work of art you think should really be on display in the museum. Let us know.

'Treasures from the depot' is on view from June 5, 2021 through November 14, 2021.
